FEEDING SCHEMEThe vision of the Phethoho Feeding Scheme is to uplift and transform our community not only by supplying food, clothes and blankets, but to teach Christian values and morals and in so doing, cut down on crime. We realize that food is only the door to the person. We emphasize that each person is valuable and special and not simply the poor being fed. This approach has built trust and many of the adults now work as volunteers at the Feeding Scheme.
From 200 children being fed twice a week, we now cook 4,000 meals daily, reaching out to 9 schools and their surrounding neighborhood. A meal consists of thick nourishing soup with bread when it is available. The Feeding Scheme never closes. We feed during the terms and school holidays. Because of God’s grace, provision has always came through for us. He simply expects us to do what we can with what we have.
